WHAT IS AN END-OF-LIFE PRACTITIONER?
End of Life Practitioners, also called Death Doulas are extensively trained professionals who encompass compassion, love, and a desire to serve. Death Doulas bridge the gap between conventional medical care, and hospice. We provide non-medical, spiritual, psychological, physical, educational, and emotional support for those nearing the end of life and their loved ones.
I have the honor of working with people during the last phases of their earthly existence to minimize loneliness and isolation.
I join forces with hospice, a palliative team, and other health care professionals to create a dynamic support system ensuring the highest quality of life for those nearing death or those who receive a terminal prognosis.
I provide peace, direction, and education regarding the end-of-life process and inform my clients and their loved ones of the options available so informed decisions can be made.
I help those at the end of life find tranquility and orchestrate the creation of memories that can be passed on to future generations. I educate families on what to expect when someone is approaching death to help them understand what is normal to help relieve fear and uncertainty.
I bring faith, I carry peace, and I hold the hand of the dying and love them through to the very end.
